Please help, confused about voice/data plans.
I currently have the LG vx8700 and have the America's Choice Plan, 450 minutes for $39.99. I also pay $5.00 for 250 message allowance and $5.00 for Mobile Web.
I am considering to purchase the Samsung Omnia, but if I do, would I have to change my plan? If so, do I need a voice AND data plan? Ive gone to the website to review my options, but I find it confusing.
What is the cheapest option for having voice and data packages for the Omnia phone. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks....GP 😕

You're right. The plans can be confusing. My suggestion (if it doesn't get explained to you here) is to go into a Verizon store and talk to someone. I thought I knew what plan I wanted for me and my son until I talked to a very helpful rep. She explained a lot and I ended up getting a better deal with more features for less than I was going to pay.

You do not have to change your price plan if you choose not to. You would only have to add the unlimited data feature for 29.99 if you have personal email account that you will setup on the phone. Option 2 would be to get the combined plan for 99.99 450 mins, unlimited text, unlimited email and internet service. This is good option if you have a employee discount on your account. Go to a store and discuss your options before buying the phone.

I agree that you should go into a store and talk to a rep. Getting the phone there with a rep helping you makes the phone much easier to adjust to. It is a great device, but very different if you are not used to windows mobile.
But what you are looking at for the Omnia is the Voice Package:
Nationwide Basic 450 (what your plan is now): 39.99
Text package: 5
Data Package: 29.99 (The omnia is a smart phone and so it requires an email and web package. This gives you unlimited internet and Push or "instant" email on your device)
So you are looking at around 75 a month or so.

Yeah, you'll have to decide whether you will use the Data on the Omnia enough to justify the plan of $29.99 for Unlimited E-Mail & Web
