Why is Alltel still advertising?

OK, maybe I am just nieve but since Verizon bought Alltel and the whole transition is complete why is Alltel still advertising on TV? 😕

There are markets that are being divested, and those markets can still sign up people for Alltel. If this is a divested market you're seeing this in, then that would explain it. I don't know about in markets where Alltel will become Verizon Wireless.

The Chicago market continued to air commercials for Primeco, all the way until USCC bought out Primeco's final market in August 2002.

Because in real life, they are still two companies that are competing against each other.

stupid i know.

But, it must be that way until stores in your area are 100% Verizon.

Why? Because there are still some Alltel markets out there which will stay Alltel until they are bought.

I work for verizon. And i can tell you that the merge does not go through over night, verizon and alltel are still working as competitors. It takes a while for the billing system and everything to be merged.
