HELP! My Pearl Died!
Yesterday my phone was acting "weird". It wasn't receiving emails, but could receive texts and calls. It seemed to be trying to load something (hourglass and red arrows kept popping up every few seconds). Then, I woke up this morning and my phone is off and will not turn on. I had it charging overnight too. Please, please help! Is there any trick to revive it or at least get my contacts out? Thanks, guys.

try a different battery, does it turn on when you plug it in?

I only have the one battery, but the good news is that I got it on. Now I still can't get email, and the red arrows and the hourglass go nuts constantly, and I can't make calls or receive calls (the buttons I push don't correspond to what's on the screen. Error messages pop up too. đ

which software version do you have? Go to options and about. Then check third line should be 4.5.0.77 If this is not your software then use your desktop blackberry software to update your version.
Also try going to options then security and then memory cleaning. If this is disabled, then enable and press the blackberry menu key. Go to clean now.
Hope this works for you.

I was able to enable the memory cleaning, but I can't do the update. Unfortunately (for this situation at least) I have a Mac and haven't synched my Blackberry with my computer in about 9 months. Is there any way to get the update directly on my phone?

No. You'll have to use the Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac on Blackberry's web site.
I've seen a handful of old software Pearls croak lately. The only fix has been the software update. I'd also try sending your service books again, that could help, but not very likely.
