LG and other brands for other networks
It surprises me how many different models of phones companies like LG or Motorola will have in current production at any given time. I always assumed that many of the differences were stricktly cosmetic. For example, I assumed that the LG Dare (Verizon) and the LG View (AT&T) were basically the same phone, but set up for two different networks. You know, change the color of the outter case, change the circuitry to the other network and voila...new phone. I really don't think that's how it works though. I have a Dare and it feels like a solid, well-made phone. I had a chance to hold a View the other day and I was shocked at how cheap it felt. Almost like a plastic toy compared to my Dare. The specs are very different too. I'm just sur...

You'll find this true with almost any phone. It's odd how even the Motorola V3a/c/m RAZR is a horrible phone on one network but a fantastic phone for other carriers. When LG launched the Rumor for Sprint the general consensus was it was a great phone. When they launched it's twin the Scoop for Alltel it is generally not looked on as a fantastic phone.
