I am soooo confused!
Very Confused here. I don't get the whole merger thing. So by this date _____ all of Alltel will be Verizon? In places where both VZW and Alltel are offered some of it must be sold to another company? Will someone please explain the whole free calling between the two thing?

Alltel in certain markets is still Alltel. The FCC and DOJ have determined that Verizon would own a monopoly in 91 markets around the country. Verizon has put them in a trust until they are sold to someone. If you are in one of those markets then its business as usual. Roaming agreements may be still in place or not, free calling is not supported.
