They would also have to fix the weight of the top part of the phone because after sliding up and down so many times, the latch starts to wear down and the top part falls back on your fingers when you try typing.

Refresh is what they're calling the same model with the new software to emphasize that they've removed the "crap" from "piece of crap." Yeah, it's still a "piece."

They completely redesigned the operating system and the way the touch screen works. They claim you can use your finger nail now, and even state in the Refresh pamphlet that there's a stylus you can get for it. The touch screen is still a heat/touch sensitive screen and not a pressure sensitive screen like most touch screen phones, so I'm not sure what kind of stylus would go with the phone.

A friend who works for the marketing company that represents Samsung told me that the phones that are coming from Samsung with the new software will work much better than phones flashe...

They're making a big deal out of it because:

1) They won't admit that the phone was a piece of junk. They're trying to put a positive spin on it while acknowledging that "a few people" were unhappy with it.

2) No one will buy the phone now after it's been rotting on the display bar for months. They'll have to put a FREE sign on it to move them out. Calling it something new helps differentiate it. Too bad they didn't make it in black to "refresh" it.

3) They already have a replacement in the works, and need to sell all the lemons in the apple cart before making a new one. All I know is it's in the design phase. If Samsung's smart, they'll call is something other than "Glyde."

Yeah I see your point, its a great phone in theory.. Just not in real world.. Too bad because I think Verizon needs a good sliding type messaging phone.. I for one dont like having to open the voyager everytime I want to text or to use speakerphone...

You kidding me, I had the Voyager and I practically opened it for everything. It was rare that I used the outside. Hell, some of the features won't even work on the outside. I was constantly opening that thing.
