Well that was short lived wasn't it? So I got suckered in by the free blackberry bold on ATT, and decided give big blue a try, meanwhile never porting my number officially (had to leave myself an out, right?).
While the coverage is pretty solid in my city, the voice quality was pretty suspect in some areas where I needed it. And much like my verizon service at home (which is pretty horrible) the Bold would fluctuate between 3G and edge pretty regularly, which really confused me. Basically I didn't feel confident cancelling my landline with ATT, so it was a smarter move to just stay with verizon cause the whole reason I had thought about porting was to have a service that was good enough to cancel my landline.
I have to applaud the A...

If nothing else, Chris, you gave folks on the Verizon forum lots of opportunity to have a long discussion. Bottom line, no matter whose service you use, it needs to work where you need it to work. And if you get a great phone out of the deal, so much the better. 🙂

Yeah I agree. thats whats most important, its gotta be functional where YOU need it.

I have a question. Didn't you get a VZW repeater for the poor reception within your home?
I thought you did, and shouldn't that have solved your problem?
Also, what do you do when you are home with bad reception? Call forwarding?
...
Both those questions have already been answered!

yes, I have a femtocell and it works okay, but its not as solid as the "real" verizon network. Calls often sound muffled when you are not within 5 feet of the unit.
And data still is not that fast the network extender.
I have a landline and use that for extended coversations
...
Well you can always count on ATT to suck!
