Synergies realized when?
So...Verizon has closed on the Alltel transaction and is in the process of integrating non-divested Alltel into the VZW machine. I am wondering when the ax is going to fall on the retail reps. You have Alltel stores and Verizon stores next door to one another or across the street from each other in many places. VZW plans to save money on roaming rates, but they also stand to realize synergies (eliminating redundant positions and closing stores). When they thought it would be Alltel reps they were cool. What's going to happen is they will keep the best reps in the a...

500 reps? What region are you in? I'm in so cal and there are over 1000 reps in our region. We've all been feeling the nuece around our necks get tighter. Our performance scorecard is nearly impossible to pass and we are getting PIPed to death. To many good reps will have to go to make room for the alltel peeps.

You're in SoCal. Your region is the southern part of a state. It's also the busiest and biggest (volume) in the western regions. My region comprises of five states. We don't need any many people as they do in SoCal.
Still, I expect the bottom 15% will be preened from the sales force in the next few months.
