I'm just helping get the word out that if anyone is considering getting a Network Extender but still a little skiddish if it would be worth it...let me tell ya, IT IS! Even though I get coverage indoors I still don't have 4 bars, more like one or two. I was able to make and recieve calls but my battery was draining faster due to weak signal. After installing the Netword Extender in my house I have full signal and even better crystal clear call quality. Its "plug and play" which means you basically hook it up and it takes care of itself. And yes you can still use EVDO on your phone. The network extender DOES NOT support EVDO but if there is current EVDO coverage in your area you'll still be able to use it despite being connected to the ...

I still have mine hooked up, but Its weird when you're on it. The sound is mine is muffled, unless I am right next to it, and people often complain that they can barely hear me. Its better than nothing, but also far from perfect (atleast for me)

Yeah I sorta have the same experience. I can still hear clear call quality its just a little short on the volume. But since I'm indoors I don't need it to be loud like if I'm at the mall. I don't know if you tried this on yours but I noticed that the Network Extender and VZ Navigator don't get along. This is the ONLY thing I find wrong with it. When I'm linked to the extender VZ Navigator can't get a location on me. I'll keep trying to make sure its not just some technical problem.

I finally gave the network extender several tests of calls and data uses and here is what I came up with...

When phone is in 1x mode it of course makes phone calls...and able to use data 🙂 The data is still slower than EVDO but a bit faster than 1x from a cell tower. This may be because there's less travel for the data and that its connected to a broadband connection.

When you have EVDO service you will use voice and TXT via the network extender, but use data and Vcast on the cell tower.

If you use VZ Navigator alot READ THIS, unless I'm the only one with this problem this is what happens...VZ Navigator won't function while connected to the network extender. Although GPS connection is required to make the network extender functi...

I can't wait. Like I said I do get sevice but having full 4 bars of service is alot better. Verizon works even when there is barely a bar on the phone which is more than what AT&T can say. I had AT&T for a little while before I found out their network sucks compaired to Verizon. So I stayed with VZW. A 3G network extender would be great mainly for the battery. Less signal means the phone has to use more power. Any more insight on this 3G network extender? Manufactuer, release date etc ???
