V Cast...

Perhaps I'm not as up to speed as I should be, but is anyone else as unimpressed with V Cast as I am? I think that it is a great idea in theory, but to me, it's actually just a creative way for Verizon to get in between their customers and the "stuff" inside their wallets. I guess I'm not easily impressed!

Good point, I am a little ignorant about V Cast
all together, but personally if i wanted to play games I would get a GameBoy or something specifically for games. Kinda like the whole walkie-talkie / push to talk/ ready link thing, if I wanted waklie talkies I would got to "the shack" and get walkie talkies! That's just me, I use my phone for talking and paging.

While many of us just want a phone that works and completes calls there are people looking for all of these functions. I truely wonder why the heck anyone would want to watch video clips on a tiny little screen you can barely see or play video games when a regular old TV is so much better. How about a 1.3 megapixel phone?? You can buy 5 meg cameras the size of a credit card for 300 bucks or less thesedays. Walkie Talkie, now thats another one that kills me, nothing like your phone going off with some moron asking something so that the whole world hears. The sad thing is that there are people that buy these services and cry if phones don't have them and if Verizon doesn't keep up with Sprint PCS and carriers...

the reason the walkie-talkie feature is truly amazing is that a. most people leave this function on so they can be reached anywhere. b. It costs absolutely nothing per call (and yes i know it's free cell to cell anyway). c. rudimentary walkie-talkie services are horrible, but more advanced services like nextel's nationwide plan are impressive. The group feature that verizon used to offer meant you could conference up to ten people (i think it was 10) during the course of one call. You could essentially live the dream of conducting a business meeting at the beach. Of course, this function is years (possibly) from reaching perfection. And yes, you really don't NEED half this stuff on a cell phone, but technology is just suppossed to make life ...

Oh no! A high speed data solution designed to part customers with their money! All is lost! 🙄
