I am looking at purchasing a used phone, probably through ebay. Once I purchase the phone, what are my next steps to get the phone activated? Ive never purchased a used phone before, so I want to make sure I understand the process. By the way, are there any other reliable places online to buy used phones other than ebay? Thanks

Make sure it is a reputable dealer and that the phone does not require a new 2 year contract.

Also, if you are looking at a smartphone, be aware that when you activate it, it will add the data package and if it is a newer phone model, this data plan is required.

You'll need to be the account manager (or authorized) if there is a problem with the activation and they transfer you to customer service.

But once you get all that figured out and you have the phone in hand, charge it and power the phone on.

I buy and sell a lot of used phones (craigslist has been very good to me 🙂. Activating a used phone is simple

--Check the ESN or MEID of the used device with verizon customer care or a corporate store

--Check for water damage by removing the battery and looking for the watermark.

--Activate the phone online or in store, its a very simple process.

Btw, what are you looking for? I currently have a palm treo 755p in great shape that I need to sell, let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for your advise. My current phone which Ive had some time now, is falling apart and needs a replacement. I am eligible for a New Every 2 Upgrade, but really dont like the current phone selection. Rather than using the upgrade, I was thinking of purchasing a used phone for temporary use until I can purchase a worthwhile phone I like. Im looking forward to the BB Tour or HTC vx6175. I was considering buying a BB Storm (Ive heard all the pros and cons) but I like it. Any advice...? Have a Storm to sell...?

Actually I do have a storm that I could sell you. Clean ESN, screen is in great shape, and its running .75 (last software update from verizon). $260 shipped to your door. Let me know if you are interested.

Is the price of your Storm negotiable? I know its a totally different phone, but would you even have an LG Dare to sell?

Make me a reasonable offer on the storm.

And I currently don't have a dare. I could see if I could get one tho. Send me a price range you're looking at.

Just email me.... [email protected]
