Ques for VZW Corp. Employees...

We are switching from Alltel to VZW in about 8 weeks. My question is this...... With Alltel my wife, and friends can call my Alltel provided business phone.

With VZW I have "heard" that I will have to carry a second phone as my wife will not be allowed to call my corp phone. They said that they monitor that very closely..

Anyone want to provide any truth or myth to this?

Thanks

This would be more of a question for an Alltel rep transitioning into a Verizon rep.

From my experience on the Verizon side, mobile to mobile is mobile to mobile. The only way an Alltel number wouldn't count as mobile to mobile would be if the mobile number is one that is to be divested to AT&T next year. If you're both in the same area code and prefix area, I doubt this would be the issue.

You work for Alltel?

yes I work for alltel but this was more of a "can u use your vzw phone for after hour calling / personal calls" I have heard they are going to be super strict on personal calls from your cell etc...

what is it like now? do u make personal calls from your vzw provided phone?

When I was a sales rep they gave me a phone with 1500 minutes, unlimited text, vcast (or 50MB of data if on a PDA). I could use it for personal use. Now I'm on a manager plan, which is unlimited whatever, but they say they audit the bill for personal use that I'm supposed to pay for. Most people I know - reps or managers - have a personal line as well so there's no worrying about what's business and what's personal.

Before I had a personal line in addition to my sales rep phone, I used my sales rep phone for everything.
