Yes, Verizon can copy Cingular regarding pricing, but can Cingular copy Verizon's network or could Cingular copy Verizon's customer base (without having to merge with another company)? 🙄

How do you think Verizon was created - the merge of a few companies.

I love this goof's comment yeah Verizon did merge with a couple other companies back when they had under 10 million customers there mergers only gained them a couple million at best. They built there way up to 43 million and counting based on great customer service as well as cellular reliability!! PLease read befor you comment you really sound like an A@@ Cingular on the other hand bought a FAILING attw that already had 20 million customers, let me repeat FAILING!!! Cingular will get pushed aside come the end of the first quarter when you see that Verizon has once again surpassed them!!! Like usual!!! Oh did I repeat reliability!!!! That should be something Cingular works on!!!!

Wow, they're really working miracles over there! 6.5 million customers in ONE QUARTER?! 😳 Unbelievable!

Look..... I used to work for VZW in Tech Support. It is true, VZW has the largest network which includes roaming agreements with Alltel and the like. That is their ONLY major selling point. After that, they are no better than any other carrier.

It is my opinion that the phones VZW sells are junk. And when you get a junky phone, you get a junkier warranty replacememnt phone. I ought to know. I personally had an Audiovox 8900 go bad after only 6 weeks of use.

ALSO, thst stupid *228 -- why does VZW try to sell that as a "FREE SOFTWARE UPGRADE?" Most other carriers offer automatic roaming software upgrades the minute their customers phone register with a cell site upon powering the phone on.

Peoples, don't believe EVERYTHING ...

LOL. Looks like someones mad because Verizon punked Cingular by offering the nations largest coverage area with no roaming. That shut down the Cingular marketing hacks right quick.

Looks like Verizon is gonna beat Cingular in this quarters ads pretty easily, on TOP OF having much better churn and profits, like always. Why cry about it? All Verizon did was beat Cingular at its own marketing game. So youre reduced to whining about it. 🤣

Next your gonna tell us h...

That's odd... I thought it was Cingular trying to imitate Verizon's massive coverage and huge m2m calling family by shelling out $41 billion for ATTW.

Guess it all depends on your perspective. 😉

If you think about it, Cingular has been planning its strategies as the "Verizon Killer". I work for the big blue orange and after Day 1, alot of our e-mails and press conferences had many references to besting Verizon. Nobody can really cry copycat because if thats the case, lets go ahead and say that Alexander Graham Bell is the best because all wireless companies are copying the idea of using a device to talk to another person over a distance. Grow up 🙄

Eh? You admit (and it's fairly obvious to all) that Cingular did indeed realize for a long time what Verizon's overwhelming strengths were, and set about to copy those strengths... and yet you get snippy when that is pointed out?

Grow up yourself, chum. 😉

In any case, I don't bemoan Cingular realizing that it had to become like Verizon in scale (and someday, they hope, in churn rate and profitability) to compete... its simply the capitalist marketplace at work. Cingular is right to try to copy anything about Verizon that's good, and vice-versa... and the result is better wireless service for us all. 🙂

Correction...
I am not arguing the validity of the point, and yes, I did state those facts.
The 'grow up' comment was targeted towards the neverending pissing contest going on this site.
Some starts something, another reproduces and makes it better (in theory), and so on. Such is the nature of competition.

our plans are very similar. thats the sign of both companies shadowing eachother's moves. if Cingular hadn't purchased AT&T, then AT&T would have gone under within the next year or two, and Cingular would always be known as "the littl...
