I recently picked up a Curve, mostly because I wasn't allowed to keep my Touch Pro 2 on, because it's an Alltel phone (meh, whatever). I've had it about 20 days now, and I like it, but it's not as powerful as what I'm used to.

I'm somewhat limited on budget at the moment, as we're expecting another child, so while I want a more powerful/capable handset, I'm not sure what to do, and I've only got a few days left to do it.

The Storm just dropped to 99.99, and that's a steal, but I miss my WinMo, but really don't want a non-touchscreen WinMo device, because well, most of them suck. I have no fear that HTC will break that trend, but still, I'd rather have the touchscreen for WinMo. Since the Omnia 2 and Touch Pro 2 seem pretty far out o...

I'd get the Tour if it were more affordable, however, it's not at the moment, I'd also consider the Omnia at that point too, but both are a little out of my budget range according to my wife. 🤣

I would highly recommend the Storm. I've had mine since the day they came out and love it. They touchscreen on the storm really doesn't slow you down on typing. I love the clicking of the screen. After a few minutes of playing with it you'll have it down.

I've tried a few other phones while I've had Storm and can only stay away from the Storm for a few hours. I've tried the Touch Pro and Omnia and couldn't stand them. Once you go Blackberry it's hard to go back to WinMo. I also love the touchscreen for scrolling and web browsing and things like that. Can't stand not being able to just click where I want to click. Doing it with a scroll ball sucks.

That it does. The only reason that I don't want the Storm is because I'm used to the power of the WinMo. I had TP decked out, and rocking everything I could possibly need, much of which was included as part of the OS and HTC's UI. I did hack mine, but only minor things.

That's not to say the Storm sucks, it doesn't. It's just something I have to think on. Not much time to think about it though. 🤣

I guess I'll order it.

You said in another post that you hacked your Touch Pro 2, so I have a good idea of what you're doing with your WinMo phone, but I was wondering what you were doing with it that you couldn't do on the Blackberry.

I had 10 WinMo devices in the last five years, and three Blackberry devices. I currently carry the Storm, the Samsung Saga, and I have a Blackberry 8830 in my laptop bag for work email. In the last year I've had the Curve, the Omnia, the Touch Pro, and the Touch. Over the years, I've had everything from the Samsung i550 and HTC XV6600 on up, except for Palm phones. You couldn't force me to use a Palm. I was originally trained as a PDA specialist for Verizon, hence all the phones.

By far, I've had the best experience on Bl...

The Ozone is ok, but, I'm a touchy person as far as my phones go.

I hacked the daylights out of TF3d, once I figured out how, my 68 and 6900s were FAR easier. My issues stem more from the browser than much else, as there are plug-ins that can do most of the same things, such as RSS readers for example. I do miss my weather panel on my TP. TF3d was sweet.

The browser is a very limiting thing on the BB. I'm a mod or admin on a couple of forums, and due to the forum language, I'm not able to load the forum as I would on a desktop, like I could on my TP and 68 and 6900s. I'm reduced to a mobile version, which doesn't load any of the admin options, so I'm reduced to essentially a user only version of both.
