Bad phone or bad service

I have the LG 5500 phone with Verizon service in the Denver Metro area. Every person I call on the phone says it sounds like I'm underwater. The sound on my end is just as bad. Went to the Verizon store and they did some type of hard reset on the phone - didn't help. Went back to the Verizon store 2 days later and they replaced the phone with the same type - didn't help. When I say bad - it's so bad on my end, I couldn't tell the difference between my mom answering the phone and her voice mail.
I travel all over the Denver area and the sound never improves.
Has anyone else had this trouble? This phone has excellent reviews so I'm not sure what the trouble could be.

Well if it happens all over I'd say it's the phone. Try a Motorola.
Or maybe it's something temporary going on with the network in that area.

Did you turn the Voice Clarity thing on or off?

Try that.

Go to:
Menu
Settings & Tools
Sound Settings
Then Voice Clarity (#7)

Try it off and on and see if that does anything.
If it doesn't, then it could be your speaker in your phone. They should exchange it under the phones 1 year warranty.

I know that Verizon's network is solid in Denver. Are you in your 30 days?
