Verizon Wireless to host developer conference

Verizon Wireless is hosting its first Verizon Developer Community (VDC) Conference. The conference will take place in Silicon Valley on July 28th. It’s goal is to encourage development of new mobile applications for the Verizon Wireless network and its subscribers. In order to satisfy demand there will also be a webcast of presentations.

Those expected to present include executives from Verizon, Research In Motion (RIM) and Softbank Mobile among others. The conference will also include information on tools and resources, including Verizon Wireless APIs, to build applications. Once an application is completed it will then be able to be accessed by one of Verizon Wireless’ 80 million customers.
