A question for a friend.
I have a friend thats on alltel.. she really loves her blackberry pearl. but lately the data has not been working and doesnt connect, and she has delayed voicemails. Alltel here is now verizon, she called the store and they said she can upgrade plus there giving her an extra 30 off for a phone also on top of her upgrade.
Should she upgrade to a verizon phone to not have any problems that shes having? or should she just stick it out and call tech support?
The verizon rep in the store said you have to upgrade in order to stop the problems.
She doesnt want too cause she loves her pearl and the store here only carries the flip pearl.

She did a battery pull, right? I know it sounds silly, but with blackberries, this seems to fix a lot of the data issues they might have.
Around here, every once and awhile one of the towers goes down (the EVDO part of it) the blackberries can get stuck and just not connect to the internet, even when the towers go back to full power. A battery pull always solves it.

I was just back in OK City this past weekend again. I had almost 3 mbps downloads.
I think she would like the Pearl Flip. It runs so much faster and better. I don't think she would have any problems if she upgrades.
And, if shes the main line, she gets 50.00 off. 30.00 off is for any secondary lines.

well shes the main line. The thing is this.. she's really ditzy, careless so every flip phone that she has it has break. so she only likes bar phones. she really likes the blackberry cause she can text on the pearl keypad without looking! so yes she drives and text lol. so i dont know what to get her and we tried power the phone on and off. i think its a bad phone. but she will not go with a curve... anymore suggestions??

Some stores have the Pearl still (non old Alltel stores). The storm is great, she may like the Tour, but the storm is a great phone. It does take time to get used to. She could maybe find a Pearl online.
Walmart has the Tour for 49.99, the Storm for 29.99, and Pearl Flip for free. Also, tell her to check Tulsa (she can call first). I'm sure they have one.

One thing though, if she is eligible to upgrade ALL lines on the account might be required to upgrade. It is a family plan issue.
