Take them back to the store and have them replaced is all I can tell you.

yeah im having a lil of the same issue and i've heard of other people saying the same thing not to mention all the pre release comments on it had stated sketchy call quality..like dude above me said tho take it back to the store is about all you can do im sure... i would like to know if you do that if the problem is solved. meaning what are the chances you get two replacements that do the exact same thing.....

It just resets the phone as if it were new. It will reset all software and etc. I had problems with my Storm and I did a hard reset and it seems to be doing better.

Right. If it doesn't help, Verizon will replace it.

I'm going to start off by saying I don't have service with Verizon, I'm just bored and reading other message boards. That being said, I have a Curve 8310 (I know, it's old) and I am a huge fan of Blackberry phones, but they do seem to have a lot of problems. I haven't had any major issues with the curve, but it will freeze often and I will have to reset it. My friend has a Bold which he has had to replace several times. Reading back through this I found that I didn't help you out at all with this message, just thought I would voice my opinion.

This may make me change my mind about the Tour as I hate hard resets, battery pulls, whatever you want to call it. I was hoping maybe it was just my Curve. Can I assume that Windows smartphones have the same problem where it locks up or behaves in some weird fashion and the only way to fix it is "hard reset"?

Hopefully the replacements will do the trick. ๐Ÿ˜‰
But every network has it's auditory glitches and this isn't nor the last time I've heard of someone on VZW with this problem. Not to mention the Tour is a new phone, they may still be working some bugs out. I remember reading through a update for the Storm and there were numerous audio fixes.
If all else fails try a different VZW phone or just test one where your calling with your Tour to see if it's the phone or not. ๐Ÿคจ

I was told by my data device specialist that the Tour has built-in noise cancellation. I'd check to see if you can switch it off and try a call to see if that changes things. I haven't looked into it enough to know if this what you're experiencing, but it's worth a check.
