Basically AT&T's network sucks. The GSM signal and the 1900MHZ spectrum is awful. I'm a Verizon agent and now own an iPhone on AT&T. AT&T isn't as bas as I thought it would be, but it's not good. There is an AT&T tower probably about a mile from my house. I can be on my front porch and have full signal. I did that last night. Walked in the house on the other side of the window on the porch and it went to searching. The signal is just so unreliable. I really don't think it's an iPhone issue, it's AT&T. There is no 3G here, only edge. And of course a Motorola would be better, that's the case on all networks including Verizon. They will pick up where nothing else will. It's not that the other phones are bad, the Motorola's are better than normal. I tend to believe it's the network and the way GSM and 1900MHZ works. It's very unstable. One second you get perfect signal and the next you get almost nothing.

It has to do with the way GSM put put power. CDMA is better when it comes to power optiosn from the tower to the phone.

It has to do with the way GSM puts out power from the tower to the phone. CDMA does a better job of this.

Oh, I see Motorola phones are the exception now. Gee in my experience I’d take a LG over a Motorola on VZW.
And the 1900 MHz I’m pretty sure TMO uses mostly 1900 MHz. And their customers are pretty satisfied with it.
Face it you bought an iPhone, it’s a gadget first ...
