speakerphone
Any suggestions.....I'm looking for any vzw clamshell phone with a great speakerphone. Also, are there any vzw phones that you can use the speakerphone with the flip closed?
thanks

No speaker while flip closed.
Recomendations:
Moto v710 or v60s or v260 or v265
LG vx-4500 or 6100 or 8000
Out all of those I would choose the v710 or v60s for best speakerphone

No you cannot use the Moto 710 speaker with the phone closed. The only phone that you can do that is the LG 4700, the new push to talk phone. The speaker works while the phone is closed and it sounds great.

Don't go with the v6100 if you are looking for a great speakerphone, it really sux. The v265 and the v710 speakerphones are ok, but still not near Nextel quality. The best speakerphones I've seen from Verizon are on the v60s, and v60p (which I wouldn't reccomend Verizon's PTT).

I have experience with the speakers on the V60s, V60p, V710, and the LG VX-8000. Out of those, the best speakerphone is the LG VX-8000.
Just my opinion.

Well, it's not quite the clamshell, but Kyocera's KX2 (swivel) has a speakerphone and it can be used while the phone is "closed".
You do need to initiate the speakerphone while it is open but can close it after starting it.
How good is the speakerphone? I guess that's subjective...it works well for me but I'm sure there's always someone who will complain about it.

I've been looking for the same for a few weeks. I don't necessarily want to spend much (it's for the wife!), so I've basically been comparing the LG VX4500, Motorola V265, and Audiovox CDM8910. I've gotta go ahead and get one before I have to pay another month of Sprint.
V265 seems to get good reviews for reception, but the screen is so dang small/dim, and its interface doesn't seem as logical/friendly as the others. Also trimode
The LG interface is nice and straightforward. Probably the one I'll get, seems to get good speakerphone reviews. It's been out a long time. Only digital - not sure if it will really matter for where I live (Detroit)
The Audiovox has the brightest screen, and is trimode.
Obviously, I don't care abo...
