What phone for a decent calendar?

I'm way past my NE2 date but nothing out there looks decent. I went with a smart phone last time because it was the only phone that has a useable calendar but windows mobile is junk so I'm still in search of a decent calendaring phone.
I don't want a seperate pda because I don't want so much things on my belt, have to carry a work pager, phone, pda, etc so combined is why I want a phone with decent calendar.
No need to data plan so I don't want to get another smart phone unless they will grandfather in the pay as you go I have now.

There is nothing out there with a decent calendar except for smartphones. This has been one of my biggest gripes and certainly the manufacturers continue to prove that they do not care. I bought a Centro for the calendar function alone (fantastic), and have since put a data plan on because I figured why not? The standard phones (even the newer ones) just don't cut it as far as a real, functioning calendar. I'm not sure you can even buy a pda any more without having to get the data plan, but maybe you can find one of the older pdas on ebay (sold prior to 11/0😎. I think you can still activate them if you don't buy from a store.

They dont care, because if a calendar is that important to you, then you will pay the additional money for a full fledged calendar app from WM, Palm, BB, or ANdroid.

The world is moving towards smartphones, so that is where the marketing and innovation is really going to happen (atleast in IMO).

I agree 100% with what you're saying, I just don't like it (and i suspect enine doesn't, either lol). Not that I don't like the data on my phone, because I do, but I find it hard to justify the price for the amount of time I'm actually using it (I don't need for business) and I never look at my email on my phone-ever. And "they" tell me b/c I'm the primary, I can't do the unlimited connect thing for my other 3 phones (which include a Dare and Env Touch). My kids' phones do everything I want(news, sports, weather, facebook), so now I'm considering getting a Rogue or Touch myself to get everyone unlimited internet/messaging for far less than I'm paying now and still have the basic internet which is all I want. What will I be giving up? The c...

Yeah, the enhanced multimedia phones are getting better and better and should provide a nice options for people that don't want to pay for that extra data plan.

Problem is the enhanced multimedia phones are now requiring another plan that I don't need/want.
If I buy a newer smartphone from someone else do I still have to activate a data plan or can I just do an esn change and use my existing pay as you go? I'm thinking that way I could get a newer phone someday.

Some of the older palms or Windows mobile dont require data plans, but you would have to get a phone off of ebay or craiglist. All currently available smartphone require the plan.

There is a wide division between smartphones and regular phones when it comes to calendars.

For years now, I've been submitting suggestions to Verizon's QA department about the need for normal phones that will synchronize with a computer. I honestly believe it would reduce the number of returns on smartphones.

Additionally, non-smartphones have a limited amount of memory allocated for calendar, where a smartphone is flexible depending on the available memory inside the device. The allocated memory on a normal phone doesn't seem to change between low and high-end devices. Every week I have at least two conversations with customers about the differences between the calendar on a regular phone versus the one of the smartphones.

i can sync lg's through bluetooth and exchange.. I used to use it on my dare all the time before switching over to a Blackberry. It worked fine, but I could never truely sync and make a change on one and then have it make just the change on the other. It is kinda of an all or nothing solution where I would simply dump and resync every few days... then I just got to the point of hand entering them all as I went... I also used to use bitpim before they unlocked some ofthe bluetooth profiles... it gets the job done but nothing is as easy as a PDA/ Blackberry
