Well folks after careful research and what not, I think I am leaning towards the HTC Eris. Does anyone actually own of these beautiful phones? If so, Can you tell me your thoughts on it. I was leaning towards the BB Storm 2 which I know is also a great phone but dont feel as though I should have to add an additional data plan for emails and what not.

Thanks in Advance

From what I have seen, the Eris has been a solid device.

Since it is a smartphone, it will require at least a $30 email and web for smartphone for internet access. No way around adding this service.

In your opinion would you go with the Eris or the Storm 2? Either way I guess there's no way of adding the email either way

IMO, if you are worried about syncing with outlook, go with the BB. Otherwise, the Eris is where its at.

Thanks I appreciate it. I am not so much worried about Outlook synch but I am hearing awful things about the battery life. I think I am gonna end up with the Storm 2 with the Opera browser.

A coworker has the Eris, and has been charging it like crazy. I told him to turn off his GPS, which helped a little, but defeats some of the best Google features.

I've had the Moto Droid since before it came out and I've had a couple two-day stints on the battery. My Storm (1st gen) usually gets two days on a charge, thanks to the new software. Actually, I went almost a week on the Storm, which is thanks to the Droid on my other line (being used more).

Storm2 should be fairly good on battery life, and especially better than Eris from what we're seeing already.

Yeah....I know that the Eris is a great phone from the reviews I've read but as I said battery life isnt as strong on these...Granted smart phones with battery lives not as long then dumbphones makes sense what with all the stuff your doing on them.

I've been getting very solid battery life from the Eris. Yes, I have GPS disabled, but I have a widget that allows me to turn that (or any other form of wireless that's available to the device) on or off quickly. Honestly, I barely even think about it as I'm using it.

People who keep various widgets that continually pull information from the Web (such as those for Facebook or Twitter) are definitely going to experience battery life issues. Thing is, given how much the Droid devices rely on connectivity, I'm not surprised that their battery life is a tad short. It's far from abysmal, though.

Man! A Droid AND a Storm? What's your secret? Employee pricing? So what can you tell me about the Vphone V1? I see Phone Scoop has a review on the device. Any idea when it might be released?

"Mom" provides me with two phones, and I have my own that I pay for to keep my personal life separate from my business life. It just happens that I've almost always had a PDA or smartphone these last many years. They give me two so I can demonstrate different platforms. I started a personal line after being awarded a Moto Q back in 2006 for good performance, and since then have used a RAZR2 (briefly), Sam i760, BB Curve, and BB Storm on that personal line. I always pay too much for my phones, too, being an early adopter. I don't often get a choice with my two company-provided phones. For what it's worth, my second company phone is a flip phone right now.

A friend used to work with Quality Assurance until he was "allowed the opportun...

Is the Eris the same as the Predator?
