Question about data plan(s)

Victek

Nov 19, 2009, 3:11 PM
I currently have a Moto W755 on a 2 line family plan (my phone is the primary). I see there's an option to add a data plan for as low as $10/month. Now I don't really need a data plan, but I'm going to be getting a new phone soon when I become eligible (NE2) and I'm considering the LG enV Touch or the Samsung Rogue. I know that these phones require a data plan, so the question is if I choose the Touch or the Rogue will I be able to add a $10 data plan or will the data plan cost $30? I've read conflicting information about this. TIA

the $10, but keep an eye on your usage your only allowed 25mb on that.unless you are on select, then just bump your line to connect its a $10 difference but unlimited data.

Do you have the Select plan? It has unlimited messaging. If so, you could get the Connect plan for 10.00 for each line you want to have data on. It's unlimited data.

Thanks for the replies. I currently have the NATIONWIDE BASIC FAMILY SHARE PRIMARY 700. Unfortunately the step up to a "CONNECT" plan would cost $50/month for 2 lines from what I see on verizonwireless.com Assuming that's correct I'll have to go with a $10 data plan on my line for now and save my pennies for a CONNECT plan down the road 🙂

Just keep a close eye on your data usage. 25mb can go go pretty quickly if you start using the web browser on the device.

Yeah. Potentially you could go with a Connect (700) plan on your Primary ($120) and Select Secondary for $9.99. That is STILL a $40 increase though. I don't think anyone can defend Verizon's high ace prices. I'd like to escape to Sprint but they do mandatory 2 year contracts and I'd have to buy all new equipment for four lines.

$30 data plan is for advanced devices. Your W755 and Envy Touch are regular handsets.
