Anybody see the Verizon commercial with Santa and his reindeer? They advertise Verizon's great 3G coverage and then proceed to promote a Blackberry Curve sale. Am I the only one that sees something wrong with that?

Verizons BlackBerrys all have 3G on them, unlike AT&T/T-Mobile (GSM) have EDGE only except for the Bold.

Verizon's site states that the Curve 8330 runs Dual–band 800/1900 Mhz 1x EV–DO and it is not Rev. A upgradeable. I don't work for Verizon (have a Droid and work for At&t) but I know 1x is slooooow. Tell me where my logic has gone wrong please.

EVDO started with what we now refer to as "Revision 0," then upgraded to "Revision A." There is a "Revision B" available, but Verizon will be moving to LTE instead of focusing on "Rev. B."

The Pearls and Curves are EVDO Rev.0, where the Storms and Tour are EVDO Rev.A. Both are a huge increase over 1X, which is primarily used as a voice network, but occasionally serves as backup for EVDO in rare cases (meaning, not like how EDGE is used as a necessary backup to 3G)
