Discount on Data Plan for Secondary Line?
I called Verizon and one rep told me that it was a problem with my company's discount with Verizon and that I would start getting the discount again this month. I called today after I received a new bill and was told that she was wrong and that Verizon was discontinuing employer discounts on secondary lines. Does anyone know if that is correct? Is Verizon alone or are other carriers doing the same thing?
I have not seen anything to indicate it is a policy across the board. Perhaps the agreement your employer had with Verizon changed.
That's why I was surprised Verizon was going this route across the board (if indeed that's the case).
I work for AT&T and currently the majority of our employer discounts effect rate plans (the primary charge for family talk plans) and data plans including data plans for "dumb" phones. Same here. I receive 19% off primary line charge and WAS receiving 20% off secondary line data fee of 29.99. No more. Was told to look at my bill and sure enough in the announcement section it noted an error was made allowing such discounts. Our employer purchasing department called Verizon and verified same. It was nice while it lasted and "nice" that they did not try to recover the amounts given over the last years in my case.
