any promo plans this year?
Hey All,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any promo plans this year? Debating a switch but not into 89.99 for a 2 line plan that has enough minutes.

Doubt it. In the past new promo's like that have started in February. Verizon has had these plans for years though without change. I don't see any reason they would change now, especially since AT&T has the exact same plans.

If Verizon and AT&T are the only two carriers left standing we'll really be in for it. I remember way back when I was an indirect, GTE changed their Promo from Unlimited N&W to 1,000. The trainer explained their rationale as "customers are abusing the unlimited..." I was like "Give me a break!" SunCom was a horrible carrier quality-wise, but the good thing about them was their promos. I sold the heck out of their phones and when the GTE rep complained that I wasn't selling GTE phones I was like "YOU try pushing 1,000 N&W minuted side-by side with Unlimited. The smaller carriers like Sprint keep the prices down even for those of us on AT&T and VZW. If it gets down to just those two our rate plans will begin to look like Canada's.

Thanks for the response. Right now i have the 6999 700 min fam plan, but we go over a few min per month and my wifes phone gets texted by some nutcase she doesn't know that won't take "this is not whoever you think you are texting". I just wish there was a 7999 plan that splits the difference then I might actually add a text plan, but if I have to jump 20 to get more min then I just can't make myself push my bill over 100 per month. Ah well, still beats the heck out of the crappy service and screwed up bills I had with att!

It's extremely doubtful that you'll see pricing get any "cheaper" any time soon, but this trend we've seen lately of adding perks to premium plans will probably continue. It allowed some extremely heavy users to save a little money, but made very little impact on the "floor" pricing in the cellular model.
Expect that to continue. You're not likely to see "small" step sizes in the calling plan prices. You'll see "moderate" pricing steps with HUGE differences in coverage characteristics, just like you're seeing now. The second-least-expensive pl...

I think all companies should follow tmo and do a $50 unlimited everything plan, then i could justify 100 for my two 😁
