Hey guys, im probably going for my upgrade with Verizon in May, but was wondering that my brother was thinking of getting AT&T because of the iPhone, but im not sure if i want to stay with verizon because i want to talk to my bro for free. Whats your advice on that?
Also so, i was gonna get the LG enVTouch for my phone but only problem is i need a easy access one-touch button to gmail and facebook, it was a toss up between the LG Chocolate Touch or the Samsung Rogue, but i hate getting smacked for that data package requirement thing, i know im already paying for the connect plan but i like to switch plans if i have to. So whats your pick on that?
Also i heard that people who are on unlimited data plans (i think it was a regular phone) don't get "unlimited" its really only 5 gigs of data. Is this really true?
...
The data is already included in the Connect plan that you have. You won't have to change anything or pay any more. The 5gig limit does not apply to phones or PDAs. It only applies if you are tethering or using an Air Card. Using data on the device itself is unlimited. It would be hard to use 5gig on a device like that anyway, especially a feature phone.

Oh Ok and as far as which is a better phone goes, which would you recommend?
...
Both are good phones. The Rogue has been solid and we usually see very few issues with Samsung. LG's are good phones too though. The main difference is going to be a physical keyboard on the Rogue or all touch screen with the Chocolate Touch.
...
Gotcha, is it ok to have an all touch screen phone?
Oh also does the Rogue have dial back up like the enV Touch does?
...
the env touch has a keyboard. it's a flip phone, it's not all touch ???
...
No he said the Chocolate Touch is all touch screen, the envtouch has the keyboard, but was wondering if the Rogue had a dial backup in case the touch screen goes out
...
Just in case it's not clear both the Rogue and the enV Touch have physical QWERTY keyboards while the Chocolate Touch is touch screen only. Unless you're very comfortable doing everything on a touch screen don't get a phone without a physical keypad/keyboard. I've tested the Rogue, Chocolate Touch and enV Touch phones in the store and found the enV Touch to have the most responsive screen. Still I would not want to rely only on the screen. enV Touch QWERTY keyboard makes text messaging much easier.
"your mileage may vary" so try to lay hands on them before you choose.

You're going to find data required on both the Rogue AND the Env Touch.
On the EnV Touch, simply set up shortcuts to gmail and facebook on your main screen. One touch access.
...
You can? How do you find the app for those?

No app. Just go into the shortcut menu - the little tab on the right side of the main screen. From there you can add just about any shortcut - app or web link. Drag the shortcut up to the top and it will show up in the main screen.

This is what I got set up on my enV Touch, works great for me!

Oh thats good! but i was wondering should i just add my bro to the friends and family when he goes to AT&T so it doesn't kill my moms minutes?
So about that 5 gig thing again, even if you connect a mobile broadband stick thing to a blackberry you don't get unlimited usage or something?

Tell your brother the iPhone will be on Verizon in 2010. All the problems AT&T is having right now and how there is talk that AT&T is going to do 1 or 2 things: Raise the price of the data plan or put a cap on the Data plan. Plus, are you in a 3G area with AT&T?
...
How do you know its coming to verizon in 2010? Also will it be the small version of the iphone that i saw once here on an article?
