LG Outlook Sync is a utility to synchronize your MS Outlook data with your LG devices. The current LG Outlook Sync supports enV 3(VX9200), enV Touch(VX11000) and Chocolate Touch (VX8575). LG Outlook Sync does not support old LG devices.

The enV Touch requires the $9.99 data plan, so it is significantly less expensive then a WinMo or Blackberry device. The other two do not require data plans at all.

However, don't bother calling VZW tech support to get help making this program work if you do go with one of these LGs. 90% of the techs you talk to won't even know this software exists.

Also, you're not getting a true smartphone with any of these devices. They run the standard Verizon OS, but the Chocolate Tou...

Great info, I'll have to do some further reading.

I currently have a Samsung i760 and wife has a Palm Centro (both purchased before the mandatory data requirement). Don't currently have a need for a data plan, but do want to sync phones...If the data plans were more affordable I'd consider a new smartphone, droid, etc., but to add data plans to both phones is just not in the current budget.

No reason to throw out a perfectly viable i760- hang on to that until it breaks.

You have my sympathy regarding the Centro, but I guess if you've never tried to set up an email feed on it, you don't know what I'm talking about...

There is Motorola Phone Tools for Motorola phones that will sync contacts and calendar with Outlook. You would want to confirm that the software supports the particular Motorola phone you want.

I'm pretty sure that none of the VZW Moto's support the Phone Tools. Besides, the DROID is the only decent phone they're making for VZW, anyway.

I can tell you for a fact that many VZW moto phones are supported in the Moto Phone Tools, but what can be done is limited due to Verizon's restrictions. Usually at least contacts and calendar events can be synced. There is an outfit called cellcables.com that sells kits which remove some of the restrictions on Motorola phones. I got a kit for my V3m so I could transfer wallpapers and ringtones as well as sync contacts and calendar - you get the idea. At the moment the Droid is not supported.
