So I Had The Eris But............

I had the Eris and maybe its because the software upgrade for the OS did me in but I just couldnt get into the Eris. Not sure if I'd like the Droid if I didnt like the Eris. I was contemplating the BB Storm 2 instead and do realize they are 2 completely phones. I think my biggest gripe on the Eris was that it was really slow to respond and I would keep getting these Brew emails as text messages. So...With that said would I be better off waiting for something new down the line or go with the Motorola Droid?

Thoughts?

The Droid is snappier, and if speed is your thing, you wouldn't like the storm2 (though that is also a pretty fast phone)

what do you mean Brew emails?

and if speed is REALLY your thing, and you don't need a new phone at this moment, go back to your old phone and pick up a nexus one this spring. it has a faster processor than anything else in the US market.

Verizon "dumbphones" that use the Mobile Email product have the push notifications delivered as administrative SMS pings. If a dumbphone user switches to a smartphone without canceling the Mobile Email subscription FIRST, then the pings still come thru- but they're recognized as real text messages rather then administrative notifications.

They're really easy to get rid of. Just reply with the word "stop" and they'll quit coming through.

Thanks for that Cellstudent. I actually am bringing back the Eris phone cause I wasnt really a fan. I am looking into the Storm 2 or just going to wait til something better comes along.

I am not really in the market right now...I just figured I'd jump on the Droid bandwagon. I actually saw the Nexus online earlier today....Sweet phone

the droid eris is kinda of slow now because it is running on the 1.9 droid software. and the motorola droid runs on a 2.0 right now. But the eris is going to the 2.1 droid operating system i think in feb so will make the eris a pretty quick phone. but if your going to black berry then the storm 2 is your best bet. I have lots of customers swere by it and wouldn't switch to anything else

Do you think thats a wise choice? I mean dont get me wrong I know that these 2 phones do 2 totally different things. I also hear that Google has a totally new phone that going to blow away currently on the market so maybe I'll wait for that?

Look up Nexus one, it's available for GSM already, Verizon this spring.

And it's a much faster processor, but so far it seems that google's not using that processing power for anything but Eye Candy, so it's not blowing the Droid out of the water.

FYI, there is no 1.9 for Android. The Eris runs 1.6

So should I stick with Eris or I am leaning towards the Storm 2 as I am hearing that its getting an OS update as well.

Thoughts?

It's running on 1.5. It's "slow" because it's using the same basic processor they used for HTC phones over a year ago.
