Once and for all... what I do and why I think VZ will not hold #1
So I will repost for those who have a question about my "interest" in this company and what I do.
I am on the INTERNET from 9-4 most days as I trade securities for much of my living. I can do that because I am a professional entertainer who travels extensively and I only work 15 minutes a night in a show. I am on the net in the dressing room as well. Thats why I can post all hours of the day. Incidentally my father owned 15 big rigs and hired drivers so I am familiar with that business and know many there...

Question...Are you with Cingular (phone-wise) just because of how they are performing in the stock market, past, present and future? Wouldn't you want to be with the company that would be the better performer as far as performance, call connectivity, call quality, etc. (I know, I know...just my opinion!) What if something happened to Cingular in the future...like if they took a plunge. Would you jump ship and utilize another cell phone company? Just wondering.
Thanks again.

Good post...very informative. Learned a lot of stuff about You and the reasons "market-wise" why you did the things you did...and if you're being truthful, then my apologies for some of the things I said previously.

Customers hate us all as an industry, we all hate our customers regardless of the carrier we're with... And every carrier offers something the other doesn't.
This whole thread is a waste.

The only problem I do get with Cingular and only here in Myrtle Beach is sometimes I get an echo of my own voice...But I put that in the category of "the technology is not perfect" and can live with those frailities on occasion. I d...

I sometimes get that echo too...so I think all cell phone companies and phones do that.
Myrtle Beach? Is that in San Luis Obispo County? My Aunt lives in Grover Beach. Just curious as I go down to visit her quite frequently. I live in Oakland...so wondering how coverage is in the East Bay.

Thanks! I also like the "thinness" and small size of the bar-style as well...but as I statee in another post, my only concern is that since the receiving mic is further away from the mouth, would it pick-up more background noise. Otherwise, I always carry my phone in my pocket, that's why I have flip (LG-4500), but then with the locking feature of the bar phones, it doesn't seem like it would be an issue.

Well it’s time I jumped in on a conversation. Where I live, Sacramental, everyone has a cell phone. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have a cell phone, and I know lots of people, and they don’t know anyone who doesn’t either. The market is saturated, and churn is what’s bringing in new customers. My local Cingular store was selling like gangbusters til mid-February when the rate plans changed (increased). A lot of folks were trying a new carrier, a new phone, or getting a backup phone. It’s mostly been a ghost town at Cingular since. Around then Verizon started their fantastic two line $59 family plan and business got back...

Thanks for the info and feedback! May I ask why you prefer bar-style over flip? Isn't it better to have the mic closer to your mouth in regards to background noise? But bar phones seem to be less hassle to answer, etc. Your feedback please! 🙂 🙂
Chris
I do not think the mouth piece has to be EXACTLY over the mouth. My BT headset proves that in spades. Thats old school thinking. The mics in these phones are not very directional and are pretty sensitive. I like the bar as its thinner and no need for a case. Pocket is fine. I use BT or the wired headset and answer via voice or button. Neve touch the phone. No opening and closing the shell.
People have not had any issues hearing...

Baiting (ie causing any fluctuation) a stock in any form in an open media venue is a direct violation of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
With your vast knowledge of the stock market (E*Trade probably) I would have thought you would know this.
I would tread lightly because if VZ has an attorney with too much time on his hands...

To be honest, I don't know why but for some reason I just despise you as a human being... like if you were choking and I was the only person there to give you a heimlich, I'd say "Wow, that person is choking..." and keep on drinking my pint.

Yeah I know..you "ment" to do that. Keep drinking those pints.....Although your reality is well deserved I'm sure..
Other than that get laid because you have way to much time on your hands.

Your right about one thing. I do have a lot of free time. Too much? Never. When you do what I do getting laid is not an issue. Neither is staying sober.
Wow you can spell OCD? Im very proud of ya....being a drunk and all.
What does have an effect on short-term investor sentiment is rumor and innuendo, M&A news and the occasional flips in quarterly reports. That's it.
For the long term investor, what matters are the fundamentals. Until you're able to read the balance sheet and cash flow statements and discover the hidden asset plays (like Verizon's trump cards in licensing), you're likely to have to be content with paltry gains.
Making $7...

For starters, if you're shorting stock, you're not an investor, you're a speculator. In that case, P/E ratio should mean nothing to you because a relative indicator of the value of the company has little effect on short-term investor sentiment. And investor sentiment is what you are trading on, not company value.
