I've posted this a couple places elsewere, but with no answers. I just want to know if Verizon allows MP3s, from my SD card, to be played on their phones as a ringtone. I'm former Alltel customer and Alltel never let this happen due to some stupid "anti-piracy" policy.
What kind of phone do you have? If it is a standard camera phone (not an advanced device then what you want to do is email it to your phone at [email protected] then save it to the phone. No you cannot play the mp3s as a ringtone from the micro SD card. It needs to be saved to the phone. I suggest that you cut the mp3 down to 30 seconds to a minute.
it has to be under 30 seconds with basic phones because it needs to be recognized as a "ringtone" by the phone and be saved in ringtone folder. With newer phones like the ENV3, you can set sounds as your ringtones, so the file can be a bit larger.
Well...I have sent mp3s to my mom's Fliphot that were longer than a minute. The original poster should try it and let us know how it worked out. If necessary I have other ideas.
If you make your own ringtones on a Samsung, be sure to increase the volume on the sound file. Samsungs are traditionally at a lower volume than other models with the exact same sound file. I had to do this on Alias 1 and 2.
