yes, set your region in Yahoo to asia. then you can enable pop3 access without going to premium. there is a way to set it up for IMAP, but I'm not sure about that one.

Some time ago I found a good reference for setting up Yahoo email on a Droid. Remember, Google officially does not support Yahoo email. However, with the correct settings, you can get it to work just fine.

Set up Yahoo email on Android:
go to mail icon
add account
enter email address in email address filed ([email protected])
enter password at password field
select MANUAL SETUP not next
select imap
username= [email protected]
password = yourpassword
imap server= imap.mail.yahoo.com
port=143
security=none
optional = blank
select next
