BB Tour Question

When I setup my email address on my Blackberry and I delete an email on my BB its not deleting on my inbox on my desktop. Is there something I am not doing?

Unless you use BES through an Exchange Server that is how it will behave. Annoying, I know.

When you delete the email you should get the option to delete on handheld or handheld and mailbox. If you select handheld and mailbox, then it should delete on both. It worked for me.

is your desktop client set up to reconcile inboxes? as a default, those programs download a COPY of the message, so whatever you do online, it will still exist on your computer.

I am not sure...I'd have to check that out...Seeing as though its Verizon email using Windows mail.

What domain is your email through? Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Verizon.net, Comcast.net, Cox.net, etc?

Verizon.net addresses are usually powered by Yahoo- so you may have a yahoo email address disguised as a verizon.net domain name.

Go into the Setup folder on your BB
Open the Email Settings icon
Login
Open the details for your verizon.net account
Open the Synchronization Options category
Ensure that deleted items are being synchronized


That should fix it. If not, it may be a limitation in the yahoo email platform. Yahoo doesn't use standardized IMAP/POP3 email server format like most other email providers. They have their own custom email delivery and server system, and it isn't the best product on the market!

The only other thing to check is how your Windows Mail is set up. It may not be looking in and syncing with the ...
