Motorola Droid hardware earpiece quality
So I myself have gone through two Moto Droids because the earpiece was worse than my LG Touch. Along with static and ticks it sounded like I was picking up everything going on in the background of the other person rather than picking up what they were saying (multiple phones).
And if I do any type of search there's tons of complaints of the sound quality.
So I'm just wondering if anyone has actually gotten a Moto Droid with good earpiece sound?

Uh-oh. The Motorola shoe finally drops.

I don't have an issue with it. in fact, it sounds better than pretty much any other phone I've used.
Also found that ##PROGRAM (from the dial pad) then SEND will take you to the programming menu. (verify code is all 0's)
Under Vcode, you can select different voice encoding protocals. set it to the bottom one, and you'll sound much better to people.

No sound issues with mine. I have had it since the first release.

Mine sounds great. When you do an exchange, ask for a new one and not a refurb.

He will not get a new one unless he is the 30 days. The new rule is you will get a refurb even after 3 replacements.

Do you by chance use a universal pouch with a magnet? I had a customer that went through 3 storm 2's because of the pouch with a magnet. The minute he used the pouch the earpiece would start doing crazy things with static, ticking and other things.
