oops program

I was wondering about doing an upgrade after using the oops program. My wife has a verizon phone and did the oops program to replace a phone she lost that did not have insurance. To my understanding the contract started over on that date for another two years. When I checked to see the eligibility for an upgrade that also changed. I would like to know if the date changes to when the oops phone started or to when the first phone that she got before she lost it.

Any insight would help.

thanks

the way i was told by a verizon rep is that when you lose, break, or whatever your phone, and dont have the insurance, they have the oops program, they will give you $50 off the price of a new phone, and off the retail price, so your contract should not be extended..that is the way i was told anyway...

The oops program? Is it possible you are referring to an early upgrade? That is the only way I know to get a new phone sooner. However, no matter how a new phone was acquired through VZW, if it was purchased at a promotional price they would have you sign a new contract to start on the day of getting the new phone.

The OOPS program was used to replace a lost/stolen/broken/etc phone that did not have insurance and had not completed its contract yet.

There were 3 handsets to choose from:
Nokia 3589i ($99.99)
Samsung A650 ($99.99)
LG-VX 6000 ($179.99)

The OOPS program has been discontinued and replaced with the EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT GUIDE.

If you happen to have used the OOPS program that resets your upgrade eligibility. In fact, to make it simple... ANY DISCOUNT YOU TAKE ON A PHONE resets your eligibility for a new phone. The only way NOT to reset your eligibility is Warranty Exchange, Insurance Exchange, Full Price, Your Own Equipment (buy it off eBay or from a friend or a spare one).
