All the questions on here were "When is Verizon getting the Razr"? AH the good old days... 😁

Ugh! I remember what a freaking disappointment the V3C was, too! 🙄 🙄 🙄
Does this mean that the Verizon iphone will be a piece, too? Man, if history repeats itself won't that be a *Bleep*! The V3C sealed my "make the customer force me to sell them a Motorola" philosophy. It looks like they finally got it right with the Droid. I can admit that I was wrong about it, though I still wouldn't be surprised if something happened.

Speaking of the Q, I won that phone in a sales contest way back when... I had to sell 27 RAZRs in a single month, new or upgrade. It was hard. First, before that contest, I avoided selling the razr with EVERY CUSTOMER (I have the distinction and clear conscience to know that I told people not to buy razr, Chocolate, and Glyde phones before any problems were noticeable). Second, I was in a very small kiosk and my quota wasn't much more than 27 anyway (quota would have been less than 45).
So, I had to force myself to sell the razr 27 times more than I wanted to, but I did it. I won my Q. I felt like I'd sold my soul for a while, but I got over it. I rationalized that I didn't force the phone on anyone who wasn't already interested - ...

True, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Looks like I'll be seeing you in hell, epik. I uh sold a few phones to people I knew deep down inside shouldn't have one. That would have been bad enough, but it was when I said, "YOU'RE APPROVED FOR FIVE LINES!" and they started calling their friends and relatives to get a line that I knew my soul was gone. At least I never missed quota, eh?

I thought that anyone who worked in the industry was slated for a special part of hell, even IF they sold with integrity. 🙂

Man, when I sold for AT&T, I had this one customer who seemed mentally challenged. I was feeling really bad because she had an id card and passed credit. I was thinking, "Oh, no! There is no way I am going to explain this one away." I was so relieved when she decided to wait and bring her mother back with her. That is one sale that I did not mind losing.

I've had a few customers in similar situations. Normally, I get along with and can speak to anyone. Of the few I couldn't connect with other the years, one lady stands out. She was a new customer, and never had a phone. She was maybe 25. She was obviously challenged, and I would have rathered she bring in a relative. I tried to subtly talk her into coming back, but she was insistent.
Her major criteria was that the phone be pink. This happened when we had the original Chocolate in pink, though I preferred selling other phones. It wasn't easy explaining how the phone was going to be challenging to her, as it was challenging to the most savvy phone user already. She insisted on the phone, I rung it up, and was ready to let her go...
