WHAT DOES IT TAKE???

What does it take to get a tech support rep to send a field rep out to check towers??? Everytime I call them about a problem Im having they always say its the phone and wanna ship you out another one...IT'S NOT THE PHONE!!! I have a BB 8330 and my ma has a EnV3. Now if we are both dropping calls, can't send or receive pix, and can't use our phones in certain areas of the house then it is obviously more of a network issue...not my phone. Now according to the coverage map we are suppose to have superb talk and data coverage where we live. I am tired of this nonsense. My mom is gonna hang tough with Verizon but Im not...I gotta switch. Its irritating to me how Verizon goes on and on how great their coverage is but my service has been ver...

You have two phones having the same issue and they STILL have not sent someone out? Have they replaced either of the phones? When you called have you mentioned that two phones are having the same issues? What I would suggest is that you call back and speak to a supervisor. However, if they have wanted to replace the phone and you refused, that may be a concern. The problem is that a lowly tech rep cannot send a field rep out. They have to open a trouble ticket with the next tier of support, who quite honestly are jerks. If the trouble ticket is not followed to the tee the damned NRB reps will close the ticket and basically state that the rep is an idiot and needs to be retrained because they wasted the NRB rep's time without trying ev...

And yet I've always had trouble tickets taken seriously. I've come to know most of the local tower engineers through it, too.

Im on my 3rd Blackberry. I refused it this last time because the BB I currrently have I just got it last November. Whats the point of them sending me another phone and I have to go thru the trouble of switching everything over when its not the phone??? I did mention to them that my mom has a totally different handset and is having the same issue. The rep insisted it had to be a phone issue and not the network. Smh...the funny thing about it was that night my phone started working normally again which means that it was a network problem. Yet again this week I am having issues with the browser being extremely slow and I am not able to send or receive pictures. My mom is having the same problem with her phone as I mentioned in my previou...

Try for the FireSat. Get a few more VZW customers having that issue at your address or in that immediate area and call them back.

That is exactly what we did. We had about 10 Verizon customers, all friends of mine who frequent the local dog park which was a notorious area for poor reception. I called customer service and then proceeded to pass the phone to all of my friends who provided the rep their cell numbers. Kudos to the rep for suggesting that all of my friends get on the phone so that the problem would be on one ticket. It took about 3 weeks but now the reception at the park is great.

Oh yeah. Ten phones experiencing the same issue? No way they can say that is a phone issue.

I have had a similar experience last August with VZW's famous tech and network departments. Whenever anyone would call my cell from ANY landline phone (AT&T, Comcast, others) in my surrounding area, whether it being from any home, office, store, etc., right after they would hit the last digit of my number, they would hear severe static through their landline phone earpiece while they heard the ringing tone. If I answered the phone, it would continue throughout the call. If I did not answer, it would continue through them leaving the voicemail. This also happened when any other Verizon cellphone was called from ANY landline, eliminating everything with my line, or the landline that was calling, since it happened from MULTIPLE landlines. ...

They're not outsourced.

Keep in mind, any call from anyone not Verizon to Verizon always goes through the local landline company, which is most often not Verizon. That's the way it's been set up for a long time. Check your bill for the local municipality fee and bask in the fact that your local landline makes money off your cell phone just like your local city, county, state, and Uncle Sam do.

I admit that sometimes it will appear as if someone has their head up their butt, and readily admit that such notion can be true in many cases. However, if the problem cannot be duplicated, there are so many variables that Verizon cannot confirm, check, or change that it can take time to fix things.

I'm not trying to discredit anyone's situ...

Im sure its not a simple fix but when I know its not my phone and they know that Houston and surrounding cities have had outages in the past few months there should be no question that its a network issue and they need to send engineers out to check the towers in this area.

It's hard to gauge how this would be handled in your area. I can tell you how they do this far north and west of you.

Years ago, I had my county's tower engineer stop by the store. He insisted that I could call or email him when I ran into issues like yours. I would send him your address and account info, and he would get back to me a week or so later. If the issue was in a different county, he'd forward my request for help to that engineer.

Once they better formalized the trouble ticket process, I didn't have to contact him directly as much, but he still invited me to contact him any way, and requested the ticket number be included.

For the most part, when I've had a network issue come up, someone has busted their butt to check...

OMG...all that to get someone to check a tower in my area? 🤣 Wow but thank you very much for explaining the process. I appreciate that very much. Tomorrow after school I will drop by my local Verizon store and see if I can find THAT person that can help me with this issue. Thank you!

It's usually not just "a tower" ... it's the equipment that connects the tower to the rest of the system.

Can you clarify one thing for me?

You stated that you're "dropping calls, can't send or receive pix, and can't use our phones in certain areas of the house."

Does this mean you're having all of these issues inside your house? Or are you dropping calls and unable to pix message in your area, and in addition you're experiencing spotty coverage inside your house?

Lately, the dropped calls, low signal bar, and not being able to send or receive pix happens when I leave the house too. Its just worse when Im at home. Now, like I stated in my initial post the coverage map shows us living within really good talk and data coverage. Either Verizon is lying about how good their coverage is or we got some f**ked towers in our area.

I once visited a friend in California that lived in signal hell. They had Verizon stores, Verizon towers, and should have been all good. However, the towers had to be placed in some pretty stupid areas at the edge of town, and the whole town was 100 feet lower than outlaying areas. The map, of course, showed coverage. Literally, there was coverage, and legally, Verizon (or anyone else for that matter) can't guarantee coverage everywhere all the time (it's in the service terms and conditions). So the map said it was covered, and it technically was, but everything was spotty because of where Verizon had been allowed to build towers in addition to the geography. Needless to say, it was a customer service nightmare, according to the manage...
