For a couple days will I be able to use voice & data (roaming charges are a given, non world phone)?

Or is there a world traveler package I should add?

there is a canada roaming plan.....but you might be better off just paying the roaming. If you are only there 2 days I would just pay roaming... here is the plan though if you want

a couple things to consider... roaming is .69 in Canada and you should call customer service to be safe because you might need international roaming added to your account. I know it is just Canada but I think you might have to have a feature code added to your account for it to work...I was thinking they started requiring that a year or so back. It does not cost anything to have it added

Thanks.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to call and have international roaming added. I tried to call a SAT-PHONE the other week for work with my phone and I got the prerecorded message about not having international calling.
But the guys with TMO & ATT didn't have any trouble. They must add it automatically or maybe it's cause they're GSM.

Most likely it's because Verizon is Verizon.

It's called "International Dial Allow."

To add perspective, if you were a brand new customer, Verizon would do an extensive credit check to add that feature. Long-term customers are usually ok, but new customers are always credit-verified when we add international dial. That's because you could not only make costly calls, but you could roam as well. Someone at some time must have added this simply to rack up big bills they didn't intend to pay.

Oh, and if you're on a smartphone you might want the $65 global data package on the account for those two days, or you could be paying a large data roaming bill, too.
