I haven't heard any good intel lately. The initial date was around Feb 3rd. Then it got pushed back with no new date. My guess would be between april/may.

I also heard they are holding back on OS 5.0 until the new tour2/bold comes out. But with all other major carriers releasing 5.0, verizon needs to get on the ball and release it.

Thanks. That's really too bad...my dad is in need of a new world-capable smartphone and I think the Tour would best suit his needs. I was gonna have him get the original Tour, but saw that the Tour2 is in the works. Ah well...hope it's worth the wait.

That wait will be worth it. The trackpad is great and wifi is a must for traveling overseas. But.....

If you really can't wait for the Tour, look for one on craigslist. They are going for pretty cheap in my area ($150-200). When the tour2/bold comes out, you will still have an upgrade and you can sell the orig tour and get a nice chunk of change back. A little more work, but you can have a new phone now and still get an upgrade laer.

Make sure you check the MEID with verizon before you pay out money for any used phone. Just call verizon and they can verify it for you.

where did you read that? They had a demo of it at MWC this past week and it was on a bold i believe, so it will be backwards compatible.

But whats "older" mean. It could mean a 7290. My guess is that they will make a set of minimum qualifications for the browswer to work. And im sure some devices will be left out in the cold, but most newer ones I would think would work.

I would expect that it will be backward compatible to everything newer then the Storm 1 9530. Everything launched after that should have enough processing power to run it.

Original Bold might be left in the cold on this one, but I'll bet it will work fine on the Tour 9630.
