From BB to Droid

I'm interested in the Nexus One, I see its a pretty beastly phone. I currently have an BB Tour. Love the functionality of it. Wish it had more "apps" but I know thats not what they are truly for. My question is should I jump for the N1 or get the Moto Droid? I mention the droid because it has a sliding QWERTY keyboard which I do like. Or is the N1 just too good to pass up on? I've had other touch screens and got used to them (Touch & Storm) but love a real KB. Thanks in advance.

It's up to you. If it was me I would get the N1! The Droid is played out!

I here you, I've gone from Blackberries to the Moto Droid and I still have a BB Tour waiting in the wings.
As for an Android device the Moto Droid is pretty nice but the physical keyboard absolutely sucks!
As for the Nexus One, scattered reviews of both the ATT and TMO versions leave it's 3G radio in question...I.E. iPhone. Better live in a good 3G coverage area.
I'd pick a used Android (Eris/Droid) up off Ebay and give it a try, or if you get a trial period use that.

Those 3G reports are a load of BS. I have a Nexus One and have 0 issues with 3G I didn't have with other 3G devices. If you are in weak/no 3G coverage, you are in weak/no 3G coverage. But that isn't how Engadget and BGR want the news to go, since Apple pays too much for advertising and what not for them to piss them off.

You need to look at what you value in a phone.

if you like to play or kill time on your phone I would go android.

If you are a HEAVY emailer or messager, you might wanna stay with BB.

I wouldn't touch the droid at this point. The keyboard is useless and there are 2-3 new android devices coming out that will beat it hands down.

I have the Droid on my company-provided line. I still have a Blackberry Storm on my personal line. I'm waiting for something like the HTC Incredible, which should be coming out soon. I've seen the stock number in the inventory system, which usually means it's close.

I'd get the Nexus One, but I don't need a new line. The Nexus One is sold through Google, and will continue to sell through Google once the Verizon and Sprint-capable versions come out. You'll have the choice of buying it "unlocked" for full retail, or subsidized if you sign a new contract for a new single line. There are currently no options for existing customers, aside from adding a line. I'm maxed out on my account anyway.

The Incredible is going to be close enou...

I too loved the ease of Blackberry and I've always preferred real keyboards. Until now. The HTC keyboard on my Eris is so good I don't have any desire to download another one, and I'm faster on this than any real keyboard. Doesn't even compare to "other" touchscreen phones. Don't get the Droid for the keyboard, you'll love the virtual one and hate the physical one. But Android v. BB? I'd go Android every time. Maybe wait for some reviews and real-time experience on the N1.
