Tablets anyone?

I was just over on Phonedog and saw an interesting article on ATT getting another tablet besides the iPad, called OpenTablet 7. Anybody have any thoughts about why Vz isn't getting anything like this? Any interest in these things? This looks like a pretty nice device.

Just wondering; they look much easier to carry around than a netbook.

It's mainly because as a GSM carrier, things made for ATT are a bit easier to modify than a CDMA variant. Also, while you can make a GSM device and sell it unlocked if a carrier doesn't pick it up, you can't really do that with CDMA ones.

That, or the company refused to make the tablet Verizon red.. you never can tell

hahaha-very droll. ya, i guess those are all good reasons, i just liked the look of the device. maybe it's a dog, who knows but it seems on the surface anyway to be easier to tote around a tablet than a notebook.

I'd like a tablet too.. I just can't see paying for an internet connection for it.. I mean, I have a smartphone already.. Just let me tether the two and call it a day.

(Let the tablet launch with an app on the marketplace that will allow it to wirelessly tether and share data or something.. you could even charge a bit more per month if you wanted.. just not an extra 30-60)
