My VZW Story
I had the Moto Droid on my account in February with the unlimited data package. I changed devices to an old non-smartphone and asked rep for data block. When my bill arrives, I am charged for data per MB on days that I had the non-smartphone active. Asked VZW why. They say that the data usage is from February but delayed in billing. I told them that I had unlimited data when used and this is unfair and I should get credit. VZW said no. 😲 Did something like this happen to you guys? Can anyone help?

How long did you have the droid on your account?

Do you remember the exact date that you switched to the feature phone? Reason being, you should check your bill to see if you were refunded for too much of your data package. It really shouldn't be possible, but I'm thinking that the removal of the data package might've been back-dated, while the equipment change was done on-demand.
If you know the exact date of the equipment change, then tell me what your bill cycle date is, as well as the date range that appears in the description of your data package refund on the bill. I mean, not that Customer Service shouldn't be able to figure this out on its own, but I don't mind helping if you're willing to provide the info.
Thing is, you'll obviously need to take this through Customer Service...

Odd that Verizon said no. This happened to me years ago when I had a Blackberry Pearl for less than a week and hated it and returned it. My next bill was for $400 dollars, all data on the Blackberry that I had returned. Verizon was very nice about removing the charges, though, no questions asked....so something here seems amiss.

🙂 After getting nowhere with VZW customer service, I filed a complaint with the FCC. A few hours later, I received a phone call from a very nice, professional rep who gave me credit for the data charges. All is well that ends well. Thank you for your help and caring. Best wishes.

Erm...did they give an explanation as to why they occurred? I mean, don't get me wrong: I'm glad that you were able to get them credited if they weren't legit, but I would've felt a lot better with an explanation.
