Wifi tethering on the Palm pixi/pre plus now free?

I know.. I know.. april first..

But engadet is reporting it, and I guess if you go through the online chat it will show up? (still trying to do this part) but the prices are insanely low and Vzw isn't the type of company to make "joke" prices.

Can anyone at corp/gets email updates confirm this?

I know the pre wasn't doing well... but DANG... this is an insane change for them.. maybe they'll loosen the grip on tethering for other devices? (wishful thinking I know)

The backlight on my kb wouldn't light up a half hr ago, oooohhh that irks me!!! And yes, I took the battery out and put in back in and so on, didn't make a difference, I even covered up the light sensor with my thumb, thinking maybe that would activate the backligh, still no difference. . .so have you ever experienced this? Or heard of anyone else?

I even went to settings, to look for something along the lines of "Backlight", couldn't find anything.

no, every once and awhile it would shut off but it would start up again.

Like I said though.. I don't use the keyboard that much anymore though

Yes it is true. The mobile hotspot feature is free for the life of the phone on your account. It has the 5 gb limit and you will have to pay any overages beyond the 5GB limit.

Which I'm completely fine with.

I just wish they would say "you can tether on your smartphone, with a 5gb cap on tethering" I know, it's a pipe dream and they're most likely doing this to move the last of the pre/pixi out of stock.

Still, one can dream

I can't believe this. If I did not have Unlimited (grandfathered feature) on my line I might be tempted to upgrade. Of course, every month I also wrestle with canceling the line altogether so probably best to leave things status quo.

While the phone itself is a joke, getting rid of it isn't.
