So even though with these new crop of Droid handsets does that still mean that you cant Browse the web and talk on the phone at the same time? Wasnt sure if it was an issue with the network or the phone your using?

Thanks

EVDO RevA does not allow for voice and data at the same time. You won't see a device capable of this until 4g on Verizon's network.

You can talk and browse over wifi though.

It could be done, but it would require a lot more cost. The technology we use wasn't conceived for this kind of duplex use, hence the time is right to move to something that does work this way: LTE.

but it won't.

CDMA can be upgraded for duplex. Can't seem to find the link stating that atm, but I know I've read it somewhere...

As a company (and an industry) that is getting ready to upgrade to something else - it's not worth it for them to upgrade CDMA *THEN* upgrade to LTE.

You don't need to know the numbers to know that it would be stupid to upgrade twice.

but it's very expensive and not worth it, as you've said.
