This looks good on paper, but based on the blogger reviews Ive read the actual implementation is a joke. Hell, the thing only gets new data in every 15 minutes. No Apps either. AND IT REQUIRES A $30/month data plan?

These phones are DOA. I know they are aimed at teens, but if your parents are willing to get you a phone with a data plan, why on earth would you choose this one over one of the droid phones or a blackberry.

If they lower the data plan, I could see a niche market, but with the data, I dont see these phones taking off very fast.

yeh it's crazy, no calendar(no adults) no apps(no kids), then random stuff like huge MP Camera! Haha ridiculous. I don't know what they were thinking, it's gonna be the fastest phone to get 2 stars on Verizon's site

It seems the KIN is a data intensive device, being that it connects to social networking sites automatically. The data plan is probably 30 because that is the cost of unlimited data on a dumb phone...I believe. But yea, I think this phone is gonna flop. If I still worked for a VZ authorized retailer, I would steer people AWAY from that phone, lol.

The phone works partially in a cloud computing system, so some of your operations and setting are actually virtual OTA rather than native, hence the need for unlimited data - 25MB would be blown away every time you went into your settings.

I... um... ordered one. For my company phone line that I don't use very much.

I don't care much for the kin one.. it's way too small.

But the Kin Two actually looks pretty sweet, and if I could have a dedicated device just for social networking I wouldn't mind it. They REALLY need to fix the browser though imo.
