Just wanted to see how many people here have looked into it.
I was able to get a brief hands on a few days ago. Between the two, I preferred the Kin Two.. but I like bigger phones.
Build quality is pretty good (I would say high end feature phone) and the OS is simply AMAZING at what it does, at least for the time I was using it. Streaming friends updates, uploading pictures, sharing content with the "Spot" (though dirty jokes come to mind.. oh, I'll just put her in my kin spot")
I really liked the Online portion of the device. The website was really responsive, well laid out, and had some nifty features (such as sending pictures from your PC to your phone OTA)
Browser was a pretty big let down.. but there are a lot of peopl...

I agree with you on your assessment of the kin. The online site is nice, the phone lay out is ok. This phone is definetly for the facebook, or twitter, myspace addicts. The internet browser is ok, not the best, but manageble. The zune music is nice also. I think the LG Ally will be a better phone for a niche market customer. There is another LG phone called the Phantom that will be a windows phone with the snapdragon processor that should be another decent LG device.

I love the idea of the zunepass... 15 a month for unlimited streaming and 10 mp3's

we got some in the store i work at yesterday and i find them to feel really cheap. i also tried out the camera for awhile on both of them and unless you have the steady hands of a world class surgeon the pic will come out blurry because of shutter speed.
for the same price point you could easily have a droid eris with 2.1 now or even a blackberry so i don't know why anyone would by this.
but i have been wrong before (or so my wife tells me........constantly)

I disagree about the data plan pricing. If someone's really, REALLY serious about social networking, then someone using a KIN could very easily use more data than someone using another type of phone. If people using these take many photos on a daily basis, and that's all automatically being uploaded to the cloud, then I'd say that it's very easy to justify the price of unlimited data. I think that it also needs to be said that these devices do a lot of hand-holding when it comes to backing up content, so I'd say that the pricing is quite fair.
I wouldn't want one, personally, but I do think that KIN takes some really cool approaches to how you share content (especially the Spot).

The problem is that it only hits the server for data every 15 minutes!!! Seriously? Thats absurd for twitter and facebook updates.
I basically use twitter as a messaging tool sometimes, and if I have to wait 15 min to get a response from a buddy....well, its just a deal breaker for me.
And I think they screwed up by making this thing sooooooo focued on a niche market. It should have a webkit browser and apps would have been nice also.
I understand the market, but I dont know if the market will understand the phone....

I agree about the length of time between status updates. However, bear in mind that KIN and WM7 will eventually be merged together, which may - as even Microsoft has suggested - allow KIN to access app downloads in the future.

great for the future....but Win 7 wont be out till Q4. So basically you have to use a subpar phone for 30 bucks a month.
I just feel like they botched this whole process....
The only cool thing about the kin is the online studio.
