The web site is still showing a pre-order status on the phone...so too early. I guess they're not shipping until the 27th.

FAUguy on hofo still has a great review of it.

Looks cool but I'll be sticking with my Droid and waiting for the Shadow!

I don't know all that much about the Shadow, but isn't that an all touch phone?

2.4.1" TFT FWVGA screen
3.Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 Processor
4.2GB built in memory probably more
5.Android 2.1, with soon-to-follow upgrade to 2
6.Moto BLUR with updates such as BLUR community chat
7.8 MP camera
8.720p recording
9.1080p output via HDMI port

Very impressive specs.

But as you may know, I prefer physical slideout keyboard smartphones, . . .but very impressive specs.

I'm glad to see Motorola, the company who invented the cellphone, start to make a come back. Hopefully the Shadows build is as solid and well thought out as the Droid.

So would you say it's an accurate statement to compare the shadow to the Evo? Minus the 4G of course.

Does the EVO have 1080p output? I don't think so...but to answer your question for me Hell no! I don't like HTC and the review of the EVO although good pointed out some build quality complaints that fall in line with the build quality of verizon's Incredible, not to mention complaints about RF and battery life. I say Motorola and Verizon are a lethal combination. You?

You do have a point about HTC, there's always bugs or something. Personally I've never owned an HTC/device, Slammer is very loyal to them though.

I just hope that the Droid isn't the only smartphone Moto puts out with this kind of build quality, gorilla glass, metal casing, I want them to put more out that are made of good materials. Aluminum would be good too.

Yep I agree I love the build quality of the Droid, it's all personal preference but when I picked up the Incredible I cringed knowing it couldn't hold a candle to the DROID. I'm sure the Droid 2 will be built the same way, and hopefully the Shadow!

It actually does have that output.

For me, Motoblur kills the Shadow for me. unless they made some SERIOUS optimization

I have never seen the blur in action, what is your major beef with it that would kill an entire phone.

It is a battery destroyer. Seriously. The constant syncing and backup decimates even careful battery planning.

And on top of that, what it ads (at least the visible parts) arn't unique enough to justify that battery usage imo.

I know someone who has the devour. they can't make it through a full day on a charge if they tried.. and that is 1/10th the phone the shadow seems to be

The LG Ally will not be in stores on the 20th. The date is now the 27th of May. The Fathom will be released shortly after the Ally. The Ally is a solid device. It still has some of the LG themes even though it has the 2.1 droid software. Keyboard is easy to use. For those that have the ENV3 or ENV touch and want a droid, this is the phone to get. It will be a easy transition.

I made the mistake last weekend of discovering Google Voice.

My life will never be the same.

As such, the BlackBerry Storm 9530 just isn't going to do it for me much longer. If nothing terrible surfaces about the Ally in the first 6 weeks it's out, I'll probably get two of them.

I don't mind trading down to a 3.2 inch screen if I can get real physical buttons along the bottom rather than 4 capacitive regions. I don't care for that button style.

I do, however, wish they had opted to include and optical trackpad instead of that LG logo on the front, making way to remove the D-pad on the inside for an even HUGER keyboard, with, maybe, perhaps, two shift keys? Maybe a larger space bar?

Overall, I'm not picky enough to care abou...
