I was just wondering how long the average backorder is for an Incredible. I know a few people who are "expecting". They've placed their orders and are now waiting not-so-patiently. What's the typical wait time? Is pretty-much everyone backordered, or are there a few retailers out there who actually have stock of that phone on hand? Mostly just currious. Thanks.
...
Backorders are about 2 - 3 weeks from the day you order it. I don't think anyone would have this phone in stock.
...
Wow..two to three week backorders everywhere? Did HTC seriously under estimte the demand for this phone or what? It makes you wonder how ready they actually were for the release.
...
They were trying to mass produce this alongside the Evo, so resources were low... 🤤
...
They still should have had more sufficient numbers available. If this phone had been released with the same media hype as the first iphone (people camping out in front of the stores) it would have been really bad. With that first iphone can you imagine the reaction if only a select few actually got a phone and the rest were back-ordered for 3 weeks?! I'm glad demand for the Incredible is so high, but they should have been better prepared for this.
...
The Evo is completely sold out as well, we're telling customers they are backordered for several weeks. While I agree there should have been more of both the Evo and the Incredible available at launch, HTC shot themselves in the foot by releasing the two most powerful phones on different carriers at approximately the same time. They are trying to catch up on producing both phones, now.
On a seperate note, their profits will be tremendous.

yeah there is a two to three week waite. But for what i dont think the new htc phone is actually worth the waite. Yeah it has a faster processer in it but it is single core. So multi tasking is not very good compared to the motorola droid or the devour. Plus to my understanding the battery life is not that good as well. It is like everything else it is all the hype thrown in with it. So if you want a phone that is good with multi tasking, plus has a keyboard try a moto droid or devour or even a ally. And the good thing is you dont even have to waite

By the time HTC catches up with Incredibles, it'll be July and Vzn will have !!2!! new Moto Droids, Droid Xtreme, and Droid 2, or at least those are the rumored names. And Motorola seems to do good with keeping up with demand. Here we are 8 months later and the Moto Droid is still very popular.

More precisely, the screen for the Incredible, which is made by Samsung, is on short supply because of Samsung's "short-sightedness," not because of HTC.

Babylon 5, Londo Mollari.
Make that three people.
I change my avatar as it suits me, though, and lately it's been Droid-themed in some way.
...
It's not HTC, it's Samsung who makes the screen. They have a shortage of them.
...
I really hope Samsung licenses their !!AWESOME!! SuperAMOLED screen tech to other manufacturers, perticularly Motorola!!!
...
It's not HTCs fault. It's Samsung's fault. Samsung can't keep up with demand for the OLED screens that are used in the Incredible, and however many other devices.

Some of us Retail Agents have some in stock randomly. Of course, they sell out silly fast and we're out for another week or so.
We put a sign out near the road and killed 2 pre-orders with it.
...
How do you get them? They aren't even available on the order site for agents.
...
I'm not sure how it happened, but my indirect company managed to get their hands on quite a few of them. At the time of writing this, i have access to about 20 of the little buggers

This phone seems to have fallen flat on its face, good! They should just EOL this thing complete snoozefest! Bring on the XTREME!
