What constitutes great service?

Before anyone gets carried away saying who is cool and who sucks, I would like to find out what would a customer need to experience to say that they have had a great experience with us?
What proactive things can we as sales/customer service/customer care reps do to enhance the customer experience and perception of our industry?
This is for all carriers, not just Verizon.

I think customer rep knowledge would be the single most helpful thing, especially CS reps. I've talked to some pretty dumb ones, and it's got to be even more frustrating for customers with reps telling them one thing over the phone and then hearing something else when they come into a store. We've had customers drive here from miles away to pay bill because CS told them to, and we don't even take bill payments here!
