the LG one, becuase you have the ev-do functionality part on it while on the mot v710 you dont.

I am also looking to upgrade and looked at these two models. If you can afford to, I'd wait a few more weeks for the VX8100. It has a smaller feel than the VX8000 because of it's rounded features. Also w/ bluetooth (crippled), EV-DO and 512MB (!!) of memory NOT including SD expansion.
